Chocolate Covered Strawberry Basil Popsicles
[Fruity dessert recipe]

Here’s an easy and healthy popsicle recipe, featuring one of my favorite combo of ingredients– strawberries, basil and pine nuts. Let’s call this frozen treat the adult version of strawberry popsicles. Made with ripe August-strawberries and covered with strong dark chocolate, these refreshing non-dairy creations are necessity for the hot summer days. If you adore strawberries and basil as much as I do, you’ll love these delicious pops!

5. Once it has melted add the coconut oil to the glaze and mix until everything is smooth.

6. Pour the melted chocolate into a tall glass and wait until it has cooled down.

8. Now quickly dip each popsicle into the chocolate topping, turning it to coat.

Because of the coconut oil the chocolate topping will harden in seconds.

9. For extra flavour decorate the popsicles with roasted pine nuts. Make sure you add the pine nuts immediately after you took the popsicles out the chocolate topping. Otherwise the pine nuts won’t stick to the glaze.

[Decor] Colorful Spray Painted Mason Jars

How to transform mason jars into colorful home accessories.

Colorful Spray Painted Mason Jars
[Upcycling project]

Everyday objects such as jars or bottles usually don’t have a long lifespan. The shiny containers are something we’re unfairly taking for granted and throwing them away after they’ve served their purpose.

But if large scale events like weddings and birthdays lie ahead of you, you might rethink your attitude toward the mason jars. With little time and permanent spray paint, you can transform the simple preserving jars into a colorful table decoration. Because of their inexpensive production the spray painted jars aka flower vases can save you a great deal of money.

How to transform mason jars into colorful home accessories.

For this project you will need:

  • min. 3 embossed mason jars
  • Edding spray paints in 3 different shades
  • rubber gloves and something to cover up your table

How to transform mason jars into colorful home accessories.
For this project you will have to work outside: balcony, garage, garden. Spray paints tend to smell strong and spread rapidly across the room. Before you paint, the jars must be dry, clean and free from grease or food scraps. Cover up your work surface and wear rubber gloves.

1. Take your mason jars and make sure they’re clean before placing it upside-down (lidless of course) on your covered up table.
2. Take the Edding permanent spray paint (or any other spray paint) and spray your jars generously until it’s well coated. It’s important that you spray the outside and not the inside of the jar. Not only makes it easier to clean the vase, it’s also better for your lovely flowers since most of the color sprays aren’t food-safe.

3. The paint takes approx. 30 minutes to dry completely.
